Weymouth arrived with new signings from Truro City Scott Walker, Dan Smith and Barry McConnell in their ranks alongside former Tivvy midfielder Danny Clay. Tivvy were hindered by the news that Michael Nardiello was stuck on the motorway and Josh Searle was still a week away from fitness. Tivvy started very brightly and should have taken the lead within the first minute but Joe Bushin blasted over from a great position.

Terra’s Craig Duff then threatened wide on the right before being fouled by Lewis Tasker. Walkers free kick was saved at the second attempt by Chris Wright. Harry Nodwell shot well wide in the 8th minute but Tiverton were looking impressive although they could have gone behind in the 24th minute when Smith’ s shot was saved by Wright. McConnell’s bursts down teh right were causing Tivvy some problems but Tivvy could have scored twice before half-time, first Emati-Emati went close from a corner then a great move involving him and strike partner Bushin ended with the latter firing over the bar.

Two minutes after the break Walkers corner found Kyle Critchell, making his debut after signing from Dorchester, his header hitting the post. A minute later Smith was clean through and Wright did well to save. Reed then tried his luck from 20 yards but the ball flew wide of the post. Jules should have done better after being put through in the 53rd minute before Nardiello replaced Bushin. He should have put Tivvy ahead in the 63rd minute when clean through but his shot was tipped over by Evans. Weymouth sub Matt Groves, who proved a handful after he came on, then hit the woodwork again for the visitors, his shot coming back off the post after wriggling clear of Kendall. Wright did well again to save from Walker, then central defender Sam Poole rose to head another Walker corner just over.

We saw Adam Faux replace Josh Concanen and Liam Ellis replace Andy Taylor, Robbie Pengelly made his Tivvy debut replacing Tom Gardner, his cross with two minutes to go was begging to be met by a Tivvy head. However it was the visitors could have snatched the lead at the death, Ben Joyce forcing Wright into a last gasp block.
