A bumper Boxing Day crowd of nearly 800 saw  Tivvy crash to a disappointing defeat at Wordsworth Drive, their cause not helped by finishing with only 9 men, Owen Howe for picking up two bookings and Levi Landricombe given a straight red card for a foul on
Peacocks keeper Lloyd Irish. Substitute Jordan Rogers netted twice for the hosts in the second half after replacing the injured Craid Duff with barely twenty minutes on the clock.  Tivvy were forced into one change from the side that came from behind to beat Slimbridge last time out, Teigan Rosenquest replacing the ill Ben Mammola

Early chances came Tivvys way, Levi Landricombe's acrobatic effort needed heading away from danger and Nick Hurst thought he had given the visitors the lead, only to be denied as Michael Landricombe was adjudged to have fouled in the build up. The hosts grew back into the game although Joe Perry was unduly troubled until a smart save shortly before half time prevented Shane White from opening the scoring after Ed Palmer's free kick had deflected into his path.

Taunton were fast out of the traps at the start of the second half and less than two minutes in they took the lead. Rogers' control on the edge of the area was instant and in a flash he turned and smashed a left foot drive home. Owen Howe was given his first yellow for a foul on Peacocks' captain Trowbridge, although similar fouls before and after were waved away, particularly when Levi Landricombe was fouled on the edge of the Taunton area moments earlier, to be only awarded a corner after Palmer got back to block Howes effort, which Michael Landricombe headed over.

Taunton doubled their advantage with twenty minutes remaining, Rogers firing in his second from close range after Pierce Mitchell was allowed to waltz his way to the byline past some fairly non-existant tackles, and from then on Tivvy collapsed. Howe was given his second caution after jumping with Matt Villis, much to the delight of the home crowd, and in the final minutes Levi Landricombe saw red after clashing with Taunton keeper Lloyd Irish, who certainly made the most of any contact. Tivvy finish 2016 in second place in the league table though after their nearest rivals Evesham United went down 2-1 at home to Shortwood United, while Tauntons victory propelled them up to sixth.
