Hemel Hempstead Town 2 - 1 Tiverton TownSaturday 05/03/2011 Southern League Premier Division | Tivvy Archive |
At this stage of the season so-called six-pointers come around with alarming regularity and Tivvy travelled to Hemel knowing that a victory would give the team a massive boost. But it wasn’t to be and neither side was able to dominate a first half which was notable for little else other than not being notable at all. The second half followed a similar pattern (if it was a painting it would have been classified as abstract to the connoisseur and a mess to the layman) but the Tudors did finally break the boredom when Steve Butler met Bruce Wilson’s cross to nod home. Tivvy struck back immediately with only their second real chance of the game as Ryan Leonard let fly and beat Mike McEntegart all ends up and the game appeared to be heading for a draw. But with just a couple of minutes remaining Matt McEntegart, the goalkeeper’s brother, stole all three points for Hemel with another headed goal.
