Mark Saunders23/07/1971Having inherited a dysfunctional team it took a while for Saunders to mould the squad into a unit capable of the results the individual talent of the players promised. Although his record as manger won't stand up statistically against many of his peers - the club escaped relegation on a technicality one season, and were duly demoted the following - Saunders' input was not without merit, and he guided the club to the top of the Southern League First Division table in November 2012 before a horrendous slump in form saw the Yellows fall away dramatically. As a player Mark Saunders was as popular as any other at Tivvy; as a manager he was largely the people's choice but paid the price for a run of 18 games without a win, and he was shown the door following a 2-1 defeat at home to North Leigh in front of Tivvy's record low Soutern League crowd. |
