Josh’s rise into the Tiverton first team was as sudden as it was deserved. A product of Exeter City’s youth system, he moved to Ladysmead in the summer of 2011 and spent the first half season playing with Tiverton’s reserve side. And such was the quality of his performances, either as a full-back or on the right side of midfield that it was inevitable that the first-team management team would want to take a closer look. So in November he was drafted into the main squad for a League Cup tie at Bideford, and in doing so became the first member of the newly reformed Reserve team to make the step up. Within a month Josh was a regular starter for the senior side, missing just two of the final twenty-six games of 2011/12 season, and in the following campaign he was the last outfield player to have played every minute of every game. His technical ability with the ball at his feet, and his willingness to press forward from deep and deliver high-quality crosses into the area saw him become one of the first names on the teamsheet. In the summer of 2014 Josh relocated to his native Alderney. |
