The unofficial archives of Tiverton Town Football Club
Martyn Rogers07/03/1955Tiverton's most decorated manager, Rogers acted as understudy to John Owen before taking charge in the summer of 1991, and building on the foundations his predecessor laid. He led the team to the FA Vase final in 1993, and an unprecedented period of success followed, including four Western League titles, a string of strong FA Cup performances, and then, in 1998, an FA Vase victory at Wembley Stadium. A year later Rogers guided the team back to the national stadium and successfully defended the Vase, whilst also winning promotion to the Southern League, and two seasons later Tiverton gained promotion again, cementing Rogers as the finest manager the club has had. |
