The unofficial archives of Tiverton Town Football Club
Stuart Smith |
29/03/1971 |
A strong and determined central defender who was brought to the club from Chard Town where he had also been utilised as a centre forward. Smith's no-nonsense approach to the game saw his quickly given the nickname "Psycho" by the fans, but his off-field demeanour was unassuming, and he was always a hugely popular member of the squad. He initially found himself in a battle with Darren Tallon for the number 5 shirt, and sadly missed out on the 1999 FA Vase final due to injury, but played a big part in both the 1999 and 2001 promotion seasons. |
