Tivvy looked to be cruising to a much needed victory. It looked like they were going in at the interval two nil up‚ but Redditch scored in the dying minutes of the first half to give the game a very different look. Tivvy started well and it was no suprise when Scott Rogers side footed Pete Varley´s excellent by line cross past Redditch´s ´keeper after only five minutes. Tivvy extended their lead in the 39th minute when Phil Everett won the ball‚ ran with it and gave a reverse pass out to Dominic Richardson who crossed perfectly first time for Kevin Nancekivell‚ running at the near post‚ to side foot the ball in at the far post. Redditche´s first half goal‚ a James Cope lob over Paul Edwards‚ gave Redditch a psychological boost. They came out blazing in the second half‚ running at Tivvy´s defence causing them lots of problems. The game seemed to turn on a bad refereeing decision. Paul Tatterton was felled from behind and dispossessed‚ but there was no whistle and in the seconds of confusion following‚ Redditch´s Jamie Hart ran in and scored the equalliser. From that moment Redditch upped the tempo further and scored two more goals effectively killing the game as far as Tivvy were concerned. Redditch´s Micky Williams´ one-two enabled him to put them ahead on 57 minutes and five minutes later Nicky Cross fired home an excellent shot from 20 yards. There was no way back for Tivvy‚ especially after Redditch scored there fifth; a strange goal. Paul Edwards left the ball thinking it was going over. Instead‚ it hit the cross bar rebounded back into play and right on to the head of substitute Peter Sutton who said thankyou very much. On the plus side‚ Paul Tatterton scored his first goal of the season‚ and a fine goal it was too‚ a tremendous shot from 20 yards that the ´keeper could only stand and marvel at.
