Match report

   Saturday 18/09/1999   FA Cup

Tivvy´s hopes of bouncing back from our mid week defeat against Evesham were shattered in the fifth minute when Clevedon went ahead. Steve Lester miscued his shot but eh ball fell to Jim Rollo who forced it inside the far post. We fell further behind after 34 minutes when Lee Jeffries found Matt Rawlings to lob Paul Edwards who watched the ball go in despite Neil Saunders despairing dive.
After the interval Tivvy took the game to Clevedon‚ this time spurred on by the appearence of the 200 fans who got caught in heavy traffic. We nearly snatched a goal back on 48 minutes only to be denied by a very dubious offside decision. We had to wait until the 63rd minute to score‚ when Scott Rogers completed a slick move involving Nancekivell‚ Everett and Pears.
Phil Everett had two good chances to force a replay in the last 15 minutes‚ but was thwarted on both occasions by excellent saves by Clevedon ´keeper Mark Hervin.
Line up: Edwards‚ Blamey‚ Saunders‚ Tatterton‚ Tallon‚ Conning‚ Nancekivell‚ Pears‚ Everett‚ Daly‚ Rogers.
Subs: Richardson (Blamey 45)‚ Ovens‚ Varley.
