Two goals from midfielder Brett Solkhon either side of Mathew Stevens seventeenth of the season for Kettering Town ensured the long cross country mid-week trek home would be an enjoyable one and condemned the Yellows to yet another defeat and were it not for several smart saves from young goalkeeper Alexis Andre Jr, the defeat would have been a heavy one. Tivvys shortcoming was an obvious one, chances created, and there were plenty, were not converted, in fact, the only notable effort on target that needed action from visiting 'keeper Paul White came from Jordan Rogers as early as the seventh minute and their cause was further hampered later on, at two nil, when Ben Mammola was red carded for what can be only described as 'violent conduct' twenty or so minutes from time.

Michael Landricombe took the captains armband from the injured Jamie Price, Shane Krac again filled in in midfield and Jordan Rogers was afforded a rare start whilst the visitors remained unchanged after their previous six nil victory over Bishops Stortford. Solkhon headed home his and Ketterings first on twenty-five minutes, getting on the end of a Tom Marshall free-kick after Tivvy had had their own opportunities to take the lead, Rogers early chance well saved and Levi Landricombes' right foot shot trickled wide after he had tricked his way past Marshall while Jamie Short headed wide with the goal at his mercy as the Yellows pressed for an equaliser before the interval.

Rhys Hoenes and Lindon Meikle both drew fine save from Andre Jr at the start of a slightly one sided second half, Landricombes curling free kick that narrowly missed the far post a rare bright spot for the Yellows and again Andre Jr saved well from Aaron O'Connor. Mat Stevens doubled the visitors advantage just past the hour mark, firing high in to the net after a cross had found him in all sorts of space, Mammola's dismissal followed soon after, appearing to kick Kalern Thomas after he had already been fouled and the Yellows miserable evening was compounded in the last minute when Owen Irish felled the impressive Hoenes and Solkhon blasted the resulting penalty well clear of André Jr.
