Ace marksman Antony Lynch broke his Tiverton Town scoring duck with a brace in the Ambers´ 6-0 friendly victory over Barnstaple last night. His double‚ along with braces from Steve Ovens and Phil Everett‚ helped Tivvy to a comfortable win last night and left boss Martyn Rogers a happy man. He said: "I am very pleased with him. He looked sharp and it was a good performance and it was nice to see him score and it was nice to see the team get some goals."

Martyn Rogers used the game to give many of his fringe players a chance‚ Luke Vinnicombe‚ Pete Conning‚ David Steele and Martin Parker all playing the full 90 minutes. Tivvy went goal crazy in the second half after Everett´s opener had taken them into the half-time interval with a slender one-goal lead.

At last the moment Tiverton Town fans had been waiting for as Antony Lynch got his first goals since moving from Taunton Town. He missed an open goal in the first five minutes as Tivvy made hard work of the Screwfix Western Premier side Barum fielded a side made up of first-teamers and young trialists on a poor pitch that was not ideal for expansive football due to the drainage system. Tiverton‚ without the three Bristol area based players were also missing Dave Leonard (working) and Scott Rogers (ill) With Luke Vinnicombe again giving a good performance in the back three‚ Tivvy welcomed back Stuart Smith for his first game of the season and he played well throughout the ninety minutes. Tiverton took the lead five minutes before the break‚ Phil Everett playing wing-back scoring easily.

Barnstaple ran out of steam in the second period‚ Lynch scoring much to his relief then getting a second. Steve Ovens grabbed a brace before being replaced by Kevin Nancekivell and Phil Everett scored again to give the Yellows a 6-0 win.

Line up: Paul Edwards‚ David Steele‚ Stuart Smith‚ Luke Vinnicombe‚ Nicky Marker‚ Pete Conning‚ Martin Parker‚ Steve Ovens‚ Antony Lynch‚ Steve Daly‚

Subs used: Neil Saunders‚ Kevin Nancekivel‚ Paul Tatterton.
