The next challenge was to maintain a 100% away record at Mangotsfield, a ground where Tivvy hadn’t won a league game since 1999. And within five minutes the hosts had their noses in front courtesy of Neil Arndale’s penalty. Wyatt tied things up with a close range strike after quarter of an hour, but Bobby Hopkinson was given a straight red card just before the break leaving Tivvy with an uphill task. And the extra man made the difference as Danny Wring twice wriggled his way into space, twice beat Book and eased the Mangos into a 3-1 lead. But Tiverton didn’t allow their heads to drop, rallied, and with twenty minutes still to play Arran Pugh guided a header over former Town goalkeeper Josh Clapham to reduce the defecit. Alas, it wasn’t enough, United held on and Town slipped two places to fifteenth in the league.
