Queens Park Rangers gave Tivvy a lesson in finishing with an easy win at Ladysmead last night. Having said that‚ QPR only managed to assemble seven attempts on target‚ and Tivvy had more of the ball than in the match against Fulham in which they lost two nil.
Tivvy failed to convert the two gilt-edge chances they carved out at either end of the game. Ryan King scooped the ball onto the QPR cross bar in the opening minutes and Pete Varley put himself clear only to see his shot go just wide in the closing minutes.
QPR´s finishing was impressive as Samuel Koejoe (2) (20 yard shot and long solo run)‚ Stuart Wardley (header)‚ the gangley Peter Crouch (tap in) and veteran Iain Dowie (header) demonstrated the gulf in class between the two sides.
It was a tremendous workout for the team and they would also have learned a lot‚ which after all was the point of the exercise.

Line up: Paul Edwards‚ Micky Fallon‚ Neil Saunders‚ Paul Tatterton‚ Nick Marker‚ Scott Rogers‚ Kevin Nancekivell‚ Pete Varley‚ Phil Everett‚ Richard Pears‚ Dave Leonard‚ Pete Conning‚ Stuart Smith‚ Dominic Richardson‚ Luke Vinnicombe‚ Ryan King‚ Kevin Squire‚ Russell Jee‚ Craig Dann.
