The Yellows, thanks to goals towards the end of both halves, grabbed a crucial and thoroughly deserved three points and at the fourth time of asking this season finally beat Metropolitan Police. Tom Bath fired the hosts ahead on forty two minutes only for Jeremy Arthur to draw the visitors level just two minutes later before Harrison Davis, making his first appearance since returning from a trial period at Championship side Bolton Wanderers, smacked home his first ever goal at Ladysmead in the final minute, and what a goal.

After a three all draw in an FA Cup tie back in September, which was eventually settled in extra time in favour of the Met and a narrow 3-2 defeat in the league away from home the Yellows finally registered a win to haul themselves out of the relegation zone. Separated by sixteen places at kick-off, that said there was nothing at any stage during the ninety-odd minutes to suggest such a gap as the Yellows looked the more likely side to open the scoring in the first half and they eventually did just that. Josh Key released Tom Bath with a ball over static Met. Police defenders and while they stood waiting for an offside decision that was never coming, Bath steadied himself before firing home his tenth of the season from a tight angle. The lead lasted just two minutes though as Jeremy Arthur gambled on a cross, after a free kick on the edge of the Yellows area was only partially cleared and Arthur found himself in exactly the right place to steer home from close range.

The sides appeared to be heading for a point a piece, after both sides had patched up good opportunities in the second half, until Davis picked up the ball twenty five yards from goal and arrowed a rasping drive that flew as straight as an arrow past the despairing dive of Bertie Schotterl in to the corner of the net for one of the best goals seen at Ladysmead for a good long while and more importantly secured a vital three points for the Yellows as they battle on towards a place in next seasons Premier Division.
