The Yellows came away from their second long haul journey in four days with only one point to show for their exertions from a possible six. Robbed of at least a point at Hereford by a very dubious (and fanbase led) decision to award the hosts an 81st minute penalty after they had defended superbly and had missed gilt-edged chances to take the lead but needed a last-minute goal of the season contender from Man of the Match Jamie Short to salvage a draw at Chesham, in what was in all honesty, a below par performance in comparison to that of the one at Edgar Street.

That said though, the fact that staff, players and fans are slightly disappointed at the last two results tells how far they have come in recent times, that the Yellows are more than capable of holding their own and with time and support will again become a force to be reckoned with at this level.

Previous Tivvy sides had failed to win in four attempts at The Meadow (D2, L2) and so it would come to pass that visit number five would be no better. The hosts had greater possession for periods of the game, keen to make amends for their 3-1 reverse to early pace setters Banbury United in their previous fixture and also ensure that this would not be the first Tivvy side to register a win there, but were left to rue the fact they could not turn their better start into goals and subsequently only had one to show by the interval, Oran Swales making the most of retreating defenders after Ollie Knowles had lost possession in midfield to arrow low past Rice on 25.

Chances came and went for Tivvy to draw level though, Mike Landricombe volleyed over from close range shortly after Swales goal and brother Levi, normally so lethal when in on goal but clearly short of match fitness after his pre-season absence, scuffed his effort and Tom Gardner headed a corner wide right on half time.

Chesham continued to have the lions share of possession and had a glorious chance to extend their advantage midway through the second period, Jon Jo Bates played through on goal, he rounded Rice and with the open goal at his mercy, he contrived to somehow completely miss his kick and the chance was gone. Tivvy's nature of lumping balls from back to front was again reaping no rewards and the longer the match went on the more likely they looked of suffering another defeat, that until such a ball forward from Martin Rice was partly cleared in the final knockings which sat up invitingly for Jamie Short and with a swing of his trusted right foot his arrowed volley flew into the top corner past the largely untroubled Al-Droubi in the Chesham goal, who would have got nowhere near it had he had more than the split second notice he was given for one of, if not Shorts best goal for the Yellows.
