The Yellows recent impressive run of form that had seen them win four of their last five matches came to an end at Weymouth's impressive Bob Lucas Stadium on Tuesday evening, second half goals from defender Josh Carmichael and substitute Toby Down, grandson of former Tivvy favourite Ian, secured all three points for the hosts and propelled them up to second in the standings, Tivvy's defeat left them just outside the play-off places in sixth.

Recent acquisition Owen Irish sat out the match after picking up a shoulder injury in the victory over Redditch previously, another name to add to the lengthening list of crocked absentees although captain Jamie Price was at least able to do some running after his knee injury, so Scott Rogers deputised for the only change in personnel while the hosts stuck with the side that had finished the recent victory over King's Langley by the same scoreline for consecutive home wins. Early chances, as seems to be the Tivvy norm recently, fell to the opposition as Weymouth looked intent on returning the favour after going down 2-1 at Ladysmead back in September, Charlie Davis blazed high and wide after bursting through in only the second minute and pacy wide man Abdulai Baggie drew a smart save from Rice soon after.

Tivvy though, came closest to taking the lead so far as Ashley Wells bravely blocked a Levi Landricombe left foot effort and the same players right foot effort missed the far post by inches after good work in midfield from Man of the Match Ollie Knowles and they continued to threaten the Terras backline for bigger parts of the rest of the half without ever really testing Travers in the Weymouth goal though. The majority of the crowd were up in arms soon after, Owen Howe with a miss-timed rather than malicious tackle on Wells earned him a booking with sections baying for a harsher punishment and Knowles also had his name taken for his involvement in the fracas that followed, Charlie Davis booked soon after for a foul on Knowles, a tackle that had more than a hint of retribution about it, as the game turned sour for a spell, which culminated in heated protestations from both sets of players and management staff as they and the officials left the field at the interval.

Harry Baker went to ground early in the second half with Rice in close attendance, referee Iain Parsons unmoved by vociferous claims for a penalty as the bad-tempered theme continued and Baker eventually received his first caution of the evening for a foul on Hurst, the impressive Wells was replaced by Toby Down after falling awkwardly and Levi Landricombes shot from the edge of the area needed two attempts by Travers to gather in the stand-out moments of the second half, thus far. Terras defender Josh Carmichael opened the scoring in spectacular fashion with twenty minutes remaining, winning the ball in midfield after Howe and Bath got in each other's way, he strode forward from half way before smacking a sumptuous strike from fully 25 yards that bent its way into the corner before Rice could set himself.

Michael Landricombe headed narrowly wide as the Yellows looked for an instant reply and again brave defending blocked another Levi Landricombe shot before Weymouth broke quickly upfield, won a corner and sealed the victory with seven minutes remaining, Down left un-marked to head home at the near post before a moment of madness from Baker saw him dismissed during the celebrations, given a second caution after throwing the ball in to the crowd. Travers saved smartly down to his right from Bath after Hurst had broke free down the right and more brave defending stopped Howe from smashing home the rebound as the Yellows looked to repair the damage, but with time against them, the hosts comfortably saw out the minutes that remained.
