To be overly critical of the latest performance would be harsh and despite a first defeat in seven matches the Yellows still sit at the top of the table but in relation to the standards of performances the Yellows had achieved in the previous weeks, they were, probably by their own admission, below par and goals in either half from Yate Town striker Ross Langworthy, a spectacular opener on fifteen minutes and a tap in on fifty-five, condemned the Yellows to a first league defeat since going down three-one at Taunton back at the end of August.

It wasn’t for a lack of trying though, as they have done on so many occasions already this season chances were created at a regular frequency throughout the evening but the visitors, who themselves had been in fine form after an indifferent start to their first ever season at this level, were defensively superb as they recorded just their third ever clean sheet against the Yellows and when the back line was breached, stopper Adam Forster made a couple of excellent saves late on to deny Luke Mortimore and sponsors Man of the Match Noah Smerdon.

The Yellows line up was as you were from those that had won convincingly three-nil at Wimborne on the previous Saturday while the visitors who had beaten Met. Police one-nil at home with an injury time goal from Louis Britton welcomed back strike partner Ross Langworthy to the starting XI to devastating effect. His opener on fifteen minutes was a beauty as his well struck shot from outside the area flew past Williams, his second though, after an under hit back pass put the Yellows in to self-inflicted trouble, ten minutes after the interval was a simple finish from close range and despite spending large parts of the second half under the cosh they held firm to record their first ever win at Ladysmead.
