A crowd of 1,546 packed into the Ian Moorcroft Stadium for the bank holiday Monday clash with Taunton knowing a win would keep the peacocks  at the top of the table with  one game to go.

It was Taunton who got the game underway and went on the attack straight from the start. With only four minutes on the clock the referee awarded Taunton a very soft free kick about five yards outside the box. The kick was taken by Taunton number three Jay Foulston who curled his shot towards the top corner of the Tivvy goal and the ball clipped the underneath of the crossbar and bounced down  into the Tivvy net to put Taunton 1-0 up. Taunton  continued to have more of the ball but neither side were really threatening the keepers.

Tivvys best chance of the half came in the thirty third minute when a Louis Morison shot was turned onto the bar by Taunton keeper William Buse. This seemed to spur Tiverton on and they started to pressure the Taunton defence and in the last minute of the half a Tivvy corner fell to Austen Booth who volleyed just over the bar and the half finished 1-0 to the visitors.

Tiverton got the second half underway and applied some early pressure and were awarded a free kick twenty yards out from the Taunton box. Louis Morison played it short to Jordan Lam who's cross into the box was just to high for the incoming Gary Warren and the ball went out for a goal kick. Taunton made their first change of the game with Jared Lewington being replaced by Tobias Holmes. A good one - two between Dan Hayfield and Jordan Lam ended with Hayfield's shot only finding  the side netting. On sixty five minutes Lewis Williams came out quickly to block a Taunton attack and keep Tivvy in the game.

On seventy four minutes Tiverton made a double substitution with Theo Simpson and Kyle Egan coming on to replace Andy Watkins and Joe Belsten. With time running out Tivvy made their final change with Nelson Iseguan replacing Jordan Lam in a bid to find the equaliser. Tiverton battled hard but they could not find a way past a very strong and well drilled Taunton defence.
