John Clarkson

John Clarkson had for a few years been associated with Tivvy at board level, all the while gaining relative success during four financially-driven experiments in the semi-professional Spanish leagues. Despite temporarily turning the fortunes of some of Iberia's smaller clubs, his inevitable departure after twelve moths left the clubs he had been with high and dry, and for none was there any long-term gain. It was very much the same during his money-splashing year at Ladysmead, with failure to gain promotion and his subsequent resignation leaving legendary manager Martyn Rogers having to pick up the pieces and build a new squad almost from scratch.
