Having signed on for the first team at the start of the 2022/23 season, Saunders was given an opportunity to make his debut in the Devon Cup and kept a clean sheet in the process. A few days later he was called into action in the Southern League following a red card for regular goalkeeper Lewis Williams, and helped Tivvy to a 3-2 win against Metropolitan Police. All the while Saunders has been keeping goal for the Tiverton Under 18s side.
