The unofficial archives of Tiverton Town Football Club
Brent Howard |
Played in the Southen Western League for Newton Abbot Suprs, then a nursery club for Torquay United, and then in the Western League for the Gulls reserve team. Howard joined Bideford in 1969 and won back-to-back titles with the North Devon club, helping them into the Southern League. However, with the travelling difficulties incurred he opted to join Tivvy in 1974 under manager Brian Sharples as the club's first contracted player, a year before the marquee signing of former Liverpool striker Alan Banks. Following a number of years of consistent service he then took on the poisoned chalice of the role as manager, which he endured for eight months before stepping aside. |
